Hans Liska as press illustrator, in action behind the goal at a football match.
In contrast to many other artists and graphic designers in the automotive industry in the 1950s, Liska worked almost exclusively with Mercedes-Benz. Through this close cooperation, his drawings and advertising posters became one of the most important influences in the advertising strategy of this time. He collected many of his fresh ideas while traveling with his wife and friends and immortalised them in his graphic works for Mercedes-Benz.
Hans Liska travelled around the world at an early age to document exciting events. In 1937 the Berliner Illustrierte sent him to New York to collect images for the Roosevelt race.
During the race he also made a short film which, back in Germany, won numerous film awards. [More in his biography]
